Raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Joshua played for the powerhouse Detroit Compuware AAA Hockey Club for most of his youth hockey years, playing against the best of the best in North America. Following his youth years, he went on to play Tier II Junior A in Canada. Playing 139 games over 3 years in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), Joshua was voted Team MVP in 2009 and led the league in save percentage in the 2009/2010 season.
After Juniors, Joshua went on to play NCAA hockey for Marian University in Wisconsin. During his 4-Year playing career, Joshua played 74 games, named to the conference All-Freshman team, All-Academic team, and Team MVP in 2012 & 2014. Josh graduated with a bachelor's in business administration (BSBA) double majoring in marketing & finance.
Following graduation, Joshua and his wife, Nikki, moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming in 2014, where they currently reside. Joshua has continued his hockey exploits by helping coach and referee youth hockey, and most recently was a member of the coaching staff of the Tier-3 Rock Springs Prospectors for the 2022-2023 season.
